Calvert County Maryland Outstanding Warrants

Incarcerated with outstanding warrant can’t get it served?

I live in the state of Maryland and my friend has been incarcerated in PG county since 08/17/08. He just got sentenced to 3 years for that county. He had a warrant issued in Calvert County on 07/25/08 which is still open. He has a public defender in Calvert and she said that there is nothing she can do to get them to serve him the warrant. I was wondering if there is something someone can do to get them to serve him the warrant, or is there a law that says a warrant has to be served within a certain time limit. Calvert County is aware of where he is and has been, but said they will not serve him the warrant until he is physically in their custody………….please help me. I am very confused. Thanks

If they serve him in jail, which they can, he will likely get a con-currant sentence, meaning the time he gets for the conviction of the crime he’s being charged with would piggyback the sentence he is currently serving.. If they wait till he’s finished the sentence in PG Co, and then serve the warrant, he will then have to dot he time for that one, and rest assured, they will be at the release counter ready to take custody of him when his time is up in PG co…
Welcome to creative enforcement….
